Masala—the Hindu word for “spices”—is present in every dish at Masala Kitchen Restaurant. Cumin, turmeric, cloves, and coriander flavor the skewered chicken and shrimp that cooks inside a traditional clay oven. The spices add zest to the vegetarian entrees as well, including the Aloo Tikka Chat, a potato patty served with seasoned chickpeas. And they tuck into piles of basmati rice paired with marinated goat. The eatery’s desserts yield just as much flavor with dishes such as pistachio-laced ice cream and dumplings submerged in rose-flavored syrup.
