Very good service in a lovely historic part of Rock Hill. I moved, that's only reason I haven't returned.

The services, with exception of massage, were below 'normal spa' standards. The regular prices were on par for 'normal spa' pricing. Either the pricing needs to be decreased to be equal to the service or the services need to be upgraded to meet 'normal spa' standards. I was excited to try a spa so close to home, but unfortunately will not return.

Beside the Massage which was somewhat decent (not a big fan of the whispering in the ears) the rest was an HORRIBLE Experience!. I am so upset it was my birthday when I went and I wanted to relax so bad, instead I was very stressed and upset when I got out of there. They make the customer pay 15% tips upfront prior to receiving any Services. Well after my experience with them I understand why they ask tips upfront..Likely no one is tipping on their way out thus the tips upfront! Also I do not believe that the person doing the "facial" was a certified/licensed professional. All she did is put cream on an off for 20/25 minutes; I had Facial before and that is not what they do! Then the same person was to give me a pedicure/Manicure and within two minutes she was cutting the skin in my toes. I then decided that it was enough and decided to leave without getting all the services! Also the "pedicure" area is a chair with a "square" tub in from that someone fills in with water using pitcher, the "manicurist" then sits in a stool that is way to high therefore you have to put your feet pretty high for her to be able to work on it ...but it is so in her face that you end up getting cuts ..because it is not "practical" for her. I believe I get the “intend” of the place “all fashion” like in the old times with the buckets and all but it has to be a good environment for the professional as well the customer! It was not worth the money I paid for neither the tips I was asked to pay upfront! I will NEVER go back there and do not recommend to anyone

Gratuity was predetermined and not presented as optinal. Maternity fees were presented after arrival even though the person scheduling the massage was aware of the pregnancy and did not mention additional charges.

They do not do gel manicures. I wish I knew that before signing up for the deal. They say they take Amex but they had issues with my card. I waited for quite some time for them to resolve the issue, but they got an error and had to use another card. (Amex worked just fine at a nearby gas station). While I was waiting I was watched over like a hawk, as if I were going to steal something. I was pretty patient with the card issue, although I was ready to leave, but being watched over without even any small talk was uncomfortable. For these reasons, and the distance from my house, I probably will not go back. However, I will not discourage others if they want to try this place.

The French manicure that was used on my nails came off in two days. I'm not sure what products were used but unfortunately it did not last for my trip.

From Our Editors

"Touch can be healing," says Donna Medley, proprietor of CovRing Day Spa. Indeed, Donna uses the word “heal” often when she talks about the events that inspired her to open the spa. Her son dealt with prolonged medical problems, and the family worked together to nurse him back to health. This, she says, pushed the long-time cosmetologist to pursue the wellness aspect of her training, and soon she'd shuttered both her Maryland salons and focused on opening CovRing Day Spa.

Donna thought in terms of healing potential when designing the spa itself. The space is awash in the restorative colors of the earth, from the grass green in the mani-pedi room to the lounge painted in the same cerulean shades of the sky and naturally occurring groups of blue musicians. The healing power of olive oil infuses all of the spa's Swedish massages, facials, and mani-pedis. To Donna, the olive oil symbolizes an anointing, and because she used it when caring for her son, it recalls his healing, reminding her every day why she chose this path.
