We were at the restaurant for 15 minutes before being welcomed, 10 more before orders taken, 10 more to get our drinks, then 35 to get the first meal. The 3 meals came out separated by 20 minutes. And we ordered burgers! Terrible service.

If you have a new customer that arrives 20 minutes before closing, you should serve them even if it means you go home later. Then you might actually get people to come back.

Very greasy used napkins to soak, it's a BBQ place turkey shouldn't be cheap deli meat thrown on a flat top with some oil and sprinkle of dry rub. What restaurant serves baked beans with hot dog in it. BBQ meat pieces maybe. Cornbread no flavor.

We were very disappointed in the sandwich which consisted of slabs of beef on a roll which had not condiments included. The French fries were cold and had to be exchanged for fresh ones. The sandwich was very appetizing as it was served. I would not patronize this restaurant again. Service was slow as it was very crowded for the late lunch time. However, it was surprising to see so many customers the day we chose.

Cook cornbread in castor on for better and more moisture. Beans need to cook longer they have nice taste. Chicken has to many bones. Ribs are tasty, but to much silver skin.

From Our Editors

Overseen by The Rabbinical Council of Greater Washington, Blue Star House of Beef, Burgers, and BBQ honors two deeply rooted traditions when forging its certified kosher, Texas-style barbecue. Beef appears prominently on the menu: in addition to hand-slicing slow-cooked brisket, the cooks begin each morning by grinding fresh beef for burgers. However, smoked turkey, pulled chicken, grilled portobello mushrooms, and homespun side dishes such as corn on the cob and garlic mashed potatoes help round out the selection of hearty home-cooked grub.

And Blue Star's atmosphere is just about as traditional as its food. Wood-paneled walls bear black-and-white photographs, a framed image of the Texas flag, and vintage newspaper clippings, creating a casual, rustic vibe that's reinforced by small accent pieces such as a weathered copper kettle and a snow globe filled with Texas oil.
