What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
I have over 22 years of expertise. After graduating from IMKinki Cosmetology School in Japan, I spent the next decade as the chief stylist at ABANAI, a top rated salon in Osaka with a diverse and loyal clientele. My inspiration is to bring the Japanese way of hair design to Rockville.

What do you love most about your job?
I love creating a new hair design that makes my client feel energized, refreshed, and excited with their transformation.

What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?
One client tipped us $100 for her Japanese hair straightening treatment because the results were so amazing and so much better than she ever expected.

I called them before buying the Japanese Straightening Groupon, and they told me if you have partial highlight they can do it on my hair and even if Japanese was not good for my hair they can do keratin straightening (to be fair they said I can go there and they can check it). I bought it for $240 thinking either one is fine. When I called them to make an appointment again they told me if they can't do Japanese they can use it for Keratin.But, I drove there for 45 minutes and when I got there, first of all, they said they are not selling anything through Groupon anymore nd they were hesitated to get my Groupon purchase and then they said we can't do Japanese for your hair and you can't use it for Keratin!!!With some hesitation, they accepted to use it toward Keratine, but they said I have to pay the full price!!so I ended up paying $60 + tip more (I almost paid $400). That being said, the guy job was really good for the Keratin.

It's been almost a month since I used the Japanese Hair Straightening from Hair Design Zone. Not a day had passed that I did not regret buying it. I've lost so much hair already. Falling hair every time I washed and comb. It's non stop. I'm hoping I won't turn bald. I wish I didn't get it done from them. I'm never buying any service from them ever again.

The staff at HDZ are very polite and speak good English. The salon is very clean and organize. The only issue I had was parking. I didn't see any free parking anywhere near. I had to go to a pay garage. They validated my ticket for two hours. My hair straightening took 4 hours so I ended paying for 2 hours, $7.00.

Went three times in three days spending at least three hours each day and the owner greeted me warmly each time Called when I had difficulty finding parking and directed me to the proper garage and even informed me they validated parking Went with my two teenage daughters and were treated with the utmost respect and courtesy Was informed about the condition of our hair and also recommended products as well as explained why she chose each treatment for our individual needs We will definitely be returning
