About Hooters - Rohnert Park

Although it now has more than 430 locations in 28 countries, Hooters wasn’t always welcomed by the public. In fact, when it opened in October 1983 in Clearwater, Florida, the founders of the restaurant were “quickly detained for impersonating restaurateurs,” according to the company's website. But the restaurant was able to prove it was more than just a pretty face—that it was serious about serving tasty American food and frosty brews—and its popularity exploded in the decades to follow.

Amid its beach-themed vibe and flat-screen TVs, Hooters still fuels appetites with original chicken wings, burgers, sandwiches, and fresh salads. Of course, nobody carries those casual eats and icy pitchers better than the Hooters girls. To complement their friendly smiles, their uniforms harken back to the ones the original waitresses wore in 1983: orange hot shorts and white tank tops with the emblematic owl on the front—though that owl has lost its Lionel Richie perm.

I love the food at Hooters & have been eating there for over 20 years now, as I lived in FL where the original restaurants were located. But, the so-called "specials" aren't special at all & you get roped into paying more than is assumed by the advertising. As an example, a friend & I went in for "all you can eat wings" & discovered that 1st, you have to buy a 12 piece, which is not on the actual menu, so you aren't aware of the price. Although, it obviously costs more than a 10 piece, which is the smallest quantity on the menu. When you've finished the first 12, then they bring you "all you can eat" in plates of 4. 2nd, you're not allowed to share. And 3rd, THE most ridiculous of all is that after you've paid for your food (it cost 2 people over $50, not including tip for "all you can eat"), they will not allow to take any leftover food home. What are they going to do with food they served you that you were not able to eat? Serve it to other customers? Throw it away? I paid for it, why on earth would I not be allowed to take it home?? I haven't been back since.
