Joia De Portugal at The Castle, Roselle Park

As the newest addition to the special-event destination The Castle, Joia de Portugal introduces patrons to a staggering 10-page menu of Portuguese cuisine. Those interested in traditional preparations can look out for chef favorites such as the chourico assado (a roasted sausage flambe), or carne de porco alentejana, a Portuguese specialty with pork cubes, clams, and fried potatoes. More familiar dishes include New Zealand rack of lamb and filet mignon, both of which are served with saffron rice and Spanish potatoes. Western European influences are prevalent on the dessert menu as well, as guests can choose from tiramisu, flan, and a passion-fruit creme brulee that packs as much energy as the man who outran a Eurail train.
