Before Kevin Moore was a winemaker, he was a stockbroker, an importer, and the owner of Hard Rock Marble & Tile. But perhaps more importantly for the history of Rock of Ages Winery, Kevin Moore was a child who grew up on a farm in North Carolina. After all his other pursuits led to success, he earned a degree in Enology and Viticulture from Surry Community College and chased a lifelong dream by returning to that childhood farm and planting grapes. Now, he and his wife, Kim, ferment more than 17 varietals on their land and create over 30 wines, offering tastings in their Old English–style tasting room.
