About Szechuan

At China Jen Restaurant, guests can expect one of the better-priced meals in Saint Paul. The familiar atmosphere and reasonable prices allow guests to focus on what matters: the delicious food.

There's no particular required attire, so feel free to dress comfortably. Also, though the prices are considered to be lower than average, you aren't going to sacrifice any quality.

When you arrive, you should check out the kung pao chicken, the dandan noodles, or the peking duck, as all three are fantastic. In terms of the restaurant itself, if you're searching for the perfect spot for a family gathering (or a birthday meal), it's rated as a nice local option for big groups and families with children. If you don't feel like driving over to Snelling Ave N, placing a delivery order is an option.

Specializing in both lunch and dinner, a visit to China Jen is definitely worthwhile. Don't worry about trying to find a spot on the street, as visitors to the restaurant do have access to a private parking lot nearby.

False advertising-update website on prices and other information-- website says that if you order $15 in food, it will be delivered within 4 miles- we deliberately ordered more than $15 (not including Groupon) because we wanted delivery. We live a mile or so from the restaurant. I even called first to ask about this and was told, yes they could deliver but to call back after 3 pm per the Groupon offer. I called back after 3 to place our order, but when I mentioned the Groupon, they said they would not deliver. I had already paid for the order online through the Groupon site. When I went to pick up the food, I had to pay $8 more than what had been charged on my credit card through Groupon. The cashier said the online menu prices (which I had used to order), were wrong. My order was not ready when I went to pick it up, although I came after the time they said it would be ready. They weren't busy- NO other customers were in the restaurant. And MOST of all, the food was disappointing--average to say the least. I won't ever eat there, I won't ever order delivery from there, I won't recommend it to friends or family.
