Making quality treats shouldn't seem like a newfangled notion, but Cold Front manages to make the classic feel new. Some of that comes down to their commitment to partnering with other local organizations—Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream, Dogwood Coffee, Gray Duck Chai—but a lot of it is simply due to their willingness to be unabashedly retro and foodie-friendly, all at once. Cherry lime rickeys, phosphates, egg creams, and other classics sit alongside unexpected sodas on the menu. Strawberry balsamic, lemongrass sass, and other flavors can be tasted solo or in a part of their soda flight, which gives guests a chance to try three different sodas in three identical glasses.
