Fear Factory SLC, Salt Lake City

In the late 19th century, a factory called Portland Cement Works started operation. It employed many citizens of Salt Lake City, who soon learned this was a dangerous job—one that some would never escape. Stories of more and more fatal accidents emerged from the factory, which eventually shut down. And though several other businesses would take over the building, none of them would stay for very long.

That all changed in 2010, when the team behind Fear Factory SLC took over. They open up the factory several times a year for paranormal investigations, ghost tours, and extreme attractions. The latter go above and beyond the typical haunted house, terrifying visitors with a zipline, a free-fall ride, and a zombie bus that probably won't drop you off anywhere near your office.
