You don't have to be born on the planet Krypton or have a fancy Batcave to help others. At the Epilepsy SuperHero 5K Fun Run/Walk, all it takes a little heart, a little drive, and a colorful costume to make a difference. This 8th annual superhero themed event—part of National Epilepsy Awareness Month—features something for every member of the family, from caped crusader participants to non-caped observers. Here are some of the highlights:

• The Course: The scenic trails of Mission County Park play host to the event, offering a smooth journey for walkers and runners alike
• What to Wear: A superhero costume, of course, or anything purple in honor of the yearly Purple Day for Epilepsy. Afterwards, you can go back to being Clark Kent by donning your brand new t-shirt (free for all participants who register by 10/27)
• Post-Race Festivities: Cool down with drinks and snacks and enjoy music as you watch (or take the stage) at the awards ceremony
