About IHOP San Antonio

Nowadays, eating breakfast often means heading to an expensive restaurant and waiting forever for a table to open up while fashionable brunch-goers jostle you for space. IHOP, on the other hand, encourages guests to forgo all the pretentious brunch customs and relax with a comforting breakfast presented by friendly faces.

IHOP started serving up hearty meals in 1958, when it first opened as the International House of Pancakes in Toluca Lake, California. Since then, IHOP has expanded to more than 1,650 locations across the world and dropped the extra letters from its name, much like the most famous of singers and school principals.

Today, the company enthusiastically dispenses buttermilk pancakes, french toast, omelettes, and bacon at all hours of the day. Though IHOP is known as a bastion of breakfast, it also serves up lunch and dinner favorites, including burgers and tasty sandwiches.

My husband had the Breakfast Sampler, always good. It was close to noon, so I had a bacon cheeseburger, surprisingly good. The onion rings were disappointing. The service was underwhelming.

Ordered a HAMBURGER. Received a CHEESEBURGER. Ordered cooked Medium, came well done. Bad experience but excellent service. After all, wasn’t the server’s fault.
