Another Hole in the Head, San Francisco

There are just some movies that are too dark, strange, terrifying, or twisted to play in mainstream theaters. But they're not too much for Another Hole in the Head. The annual San Francisco film fest celebrates dark fantasy, horror, sci-fi, and exploitation cinema, screening what it calls "the most outrageous genre films" from new and established filmmakers.

Thousands of people attend each year to watch dozens of shorts and feature films screened over the course of 10 days. In 2015, for example, 84 shorts and 26 features played for more than 3,500 attendees, who then voted for their favorite flicks out of the bunch.
