About Bi-Rite Creamery

Bi-Rite Creamery has some relatively simple rules when it comes to making ice cream: try not to use more than five ingredients, and use as many organic, locally sourced ingredients as possible. This passion for working with local producers stems from the shop's desire to create a strong community across the Bay Area. As an added bonus, the farm-fresh ingredients lend bold, vibrant flavors to the ice creams and other treats, earning national recognition for Bi-Rite Creamery's various creations.

Praise from Across the Country

  • "The best ice cream in America comes from Bi-Rite Creamery..." — GQ
  • Named one of the "Top 10 Ice Cream Shops" in the country — bon appétit
  • Featured on The Best Thing I Ever AteThe Food Network
  • Earned a place on a list of the "Best Ice Cream Spots in the U.S." — Food & Wine
  • One of 12 shops recognized for serving "America's Best Ice Cream" — U.S. News & World Report

Where Do the Ingredients Come From?

Every small, handmade batch of ice cream begins with the addition of organic milk and cream sourced from the Straus Family Creamery, located just 45 miles away. Seasonal fruits arrive from nearby orchards and farms, and the honey hails from a Sonoma apiary. Bi-Rite Creamery's next-door bakery even prepares fresh treats that are added directly to the ice creams, including brownies, snickerdoodles, peanut brittle, and marshmallows.

Where Does the Money Go?

A civic-minded spirit is a vital aspect of Bi-Rite Creamery's values. In addition to embracing sustainable, ecofriendly business practices whenever possible, the creamery supports the community by regularly donating to local nonprofits, schools, and artistic organizations. Bi-Rite Creamery even founded the 18 Reasons community center, which teaches residents about regional farmers and their products.

The size with this groupon gets 2 small flavor scoops. So awesome. I liked the creme brulee, actually had caramelized sugar in it.
