Zazen, San Francisco

The floating chamber I was set up in was dank, dark and creepy. I didn't feel comfortable or relaxed at all. It felt like a converted meat locker lined with black rubber. I kept the door ajar so I wasn't in complete darkness. Then the worst part came midway when I heard clearly through the walls, the sounds of a male client (or worker, who can tell) pleasuring himself or with the aid of somebody. It was so audibly distasteful; I will never return to this 'spa' again. And will urge others to do the same.

The staff was welcoming and helpful, so 2 stars for that. BUT there was no hot water for showers, (how do you not have hot water at a float establishment?!) so I had to leave covered in Epsom salts from head to toe--luckily I had no place I had to be afterward. While I recognize this obviously has not been an issue for Zazen up to now (otherwise it would have been taken care of by now), but I didn't like that there was no place for me to lock up my valuables while I floated for an hour.

Took Groupon, closed their doors 2 days before I could redeem a purchased groupon. They indirectly blamed Groupon for their demise. Groupon customer service refused to pull their ads for purchase even after they were reported closed.

Sorry to 1/5 cause I loved my visit as it was amazing, but.....they’re closed!!!! How do I can my credits back????? J
