In fertile fields both near and far, Camellia sinensis plants grow verdant, painting the landscape with a pure, bright green. After their leaves are picked and wilted, crushed and cooked, then dried and packed, they become a thing many of us know and love: tea.

At the San Francisco International Tea Festival, coffee devotees who lead a double life and other tea lovers come together to celebrate this globally enjoyed beverage. Everyone who attends receives a teacup, which they can use for different tastings around the festival, discovering hundreds of types of tea from local and global purveyors. People can partake in classes and workshops throughout the day as well to complement the experience with a bit of education.
