It seems this business relies on Groupon to sustain its business. As a result of taking a fraction of the sales, they have decreased portions sizes. The food is pretty decent, but it is clear that the customer is not getting their money's worth.

If it's too much of an expense to serve bread at every table, could you at least ask diners if they'd like bread and then just serve it to them?

Small menu. Still many items unavailable. Small portions. Does not serve complementary bread with meals.

From Our Editors

Specchio chef and owner Gino Assaf constantly reinvents a menu of Northern Italian cuisine to accommodate in-season ingredients sourced from local farmers. House-made breads and pastas and Italian wines accompany specialty dishes, such as wild-boar pappardelle, risotto, and pistachio pesto. A disco-ball chandelier, invented during Edison's Saturday Night Fever phase, tops the bar, past which a fearless arrangement of mismatched furniture and sculptures fills the restaurant's second-floor lounge. Fellini movies light the wall above the kitchen, and diners share plates, glasses of Italian beer, and approving nods from sentient sculptures.
