It departs from Marina del Ray harbor and the Ritz-Carlton, where even the docks smell like success. It stretches 120 ft, capable of carrying a small village. But like any night club worth its weight in romp, LA Yacht Party's massive Omega vessel sticks to an exclusive guest list of 150, leaving disheveled landlubbers to lub the land as three-piece fellas and be-gowned ladies part the waters. The party unfolds across three decks, the first featuring a live band that instigates all manner of roof-raising. The second deck stays abuzz with thumping tunes from DJs, a full-service bar, and fully-catered meals. Late night epiphanies occur on the open-air top deck, where party people can take a breather beneath the night sky or host impromptu astronomy lectures. Tuxedos are required for gentlemen—although a gentleman already knows that—and ladies are encouraged to show off their best night-life attire.
