The Activity Center, Santa Monica

Across 4,200 square feet, parents walking through The Activity Center will spy tiny chefs, budding scientists, mini Van Goghs, and speed demons. There's practically no limit to what kids can do there, and everything has an exciting and educational slant. Classes teach them practical skills such as the basics of cooking as well as unique pursuits such as magic and even standup comedy. A 65-foot electric-slot race-car track along with Wii, Xbox, and Playstation systems let kids compete against each other during friendly matches. At the same time, more independent kids can follow their artistic dreams in the 250-square-foot painting and art studio. What all of these activities have in common, though, is that they allow kids to follow their passions—whatever they may be.
