The course is somewhat short, so positioning is crucial to score well. My timing wasn't great playing the course (as a single) in mid-October, the front nine greens were being aerated and sanded so I did not get a great feel for how the greens roll on an everyday basis. On hole 16, the group ahead of me started heading back towards me in their carts, (uh-oh, did I hit into them?), turns out they couldn't find the green! It was completely covered in sand, no flagstick or cup. No mention of this in the pro shop. Hello 2 putt. The course is quite hilly, so expect a workout if you like to walk. FYI - no driving range. Overall Pioneer Hills is a worthwhile test and offers a good variety of challenges.

Always a great time at Pioneer Hill Golf Course. The staff are friendly and the course is always well kept. The golf is good and the prices are great. Well worth the two hour trip to get there.

This was our first time golfing here but definitely would come back again. Pretty and very challenging course with all the woods, water and curvy raised greens. You definitely need to keep your ball straight in the fairway and short of the pin when chipping onto the green or you could go off the green in and direction! Neither of our GPS's picked up the right hole and since there are many dog legs, it made it difficult reading the course. One good thing....there are no sand traps!!!!

Pioneer Hills Golf Course wastes no time in testing players: two of the course's first five holes are among its longest. Those initial hurdles set the tone for 18 holes worth of stiff challenges, stretched out across 5,371 yards of Saratoga County's lush landscape. But Pioneer Hills offers golfers perks off the course, too. A PGA professional conducts private lessons. And the course's on-site restaurant Duffers Pub, which was outfitted with a new kitchen and menu in 2014, dishes out food and hot coffee for early morning rounds, keeping players alert enough to fend off any gophers trying to block their putts. The restaurant is open 12pm to 8pm on weekdays and 11am to 6pm on weekends
