This place is really nicely decorated & lit. Very romantic. I had chicken parm & hubby had spaghetti bolongese. The marinara was so good I ordered some to bring home. Love this place and glad I found it! We will go back.

call ahead to make sure they had the steak available. We went on Saturday and they ran out of steak Friday night, It does not take long to get the steak in. They had all day Saturday.

La Prima Donna is no stranger to pampering guests for casual and important occasions alike. To follow suit, their chefs highlight their menu with a decadent selection of a favorite comfort food—steak. Smaller cuts of petite filet mignon and bone-in veal cutlet parmesan complement bigger selections of seared New York strip and rib eye with green peppercorn sauce.

The chefs also draw inspiration from regional Italian recipes while managing to incorporate the personal touches that create their particular brand of homespun food. By routinely making fresh pasta and rotating their menu throughout the year with seasonal ingredients, they dish up vibrant flavors in dishes ranging from baked-chicken parmesan to the homemade tiramisu that Arizona Foothills magazine described as “creamy and decadent,” before going on to assert that “this dessert might be among the best in the Valley.”

With two stone fireplaces and fire-baked clay vases filled with yucca branches, the dining areas embrace the restaurant’s more-upscale proclivities while acknowledging its southwestern roots. Large drapes hang over the windows, which allows the skylights and individual tableside lamps to light most of the space.
