We arrived at 4 PM when they were just opening. The place was freezing cold -- we figured it was because they were just opening. Someone was mopping all the floor with bleach so it smelled like bleach. Not a horrible thing but every restaurant I worked in, we mopped at closing, not opening. They were out of oysters. Burgers were okay but overpriced for a bun, some lettuce and a slab of meat. The chicken pot pie was more like a thick chicken soup with puff pastry on top. There were a couple of guys running around testing speakers or the sound system. The music would go off for a second and then come on so loud it hurt our ears. Basketball on all TV screen with no sound. We asked the bartender if he could change it to something else. His response was "This is a SPORTS bar." Okay....WE are the only ones in here and put it on something else SPORTS? Car Race, football, hockey, BOWLING would be better than basketball to us.......the channel was never changed. It took the manager 20 minutes after we got our bill and were ready to go to discount our total bill. They were still mopping with bleach when we left an hour and a half later. PLUS SIDE -- the waiter was very nice and helpful. The chef came to our table to make sure the food was okay. The onion jam on the burgers was very tasty. The fries were very crispy, just the way I like them. It may have a different vibe on a weekend night but I will not go back.
