To expand their shop's offerings beyond just protein shakes, Presley Thompson and Marjorie Miller, proprietors of Blend Organic Juicery, turned to Kickstarter. Buoyed by the overwhelming community support their campaign received, they set to work rehauling their shop in Ballard and opening a second location Downtown. New coolers and juicers have enabled them to craft an expansive menu of smoothies and juices, all made with local and organic ingredients that are carefully curated to be healing, restorative, and also tasty. Made with organic fruit, vegetables, and superfoods such as kale and chia seeds, the drinks are packed with nutrients and boost energy better than a shot glass of diesel fuel. The liquid side of the menu is complemented by salads and quinoa bowls, and all of the shop's offerings are raw, vegan, and gluten-free.
