They were horrible horrible horrible, I will never go back there. It cost $55 for a car wash and when I asked if they understood why I was upset the reply was "No" they clearly didn't care.

I took everything out of the back of the car except for a dog bed, which they said was ok to leave there. When the car was finished I noticed that the dog bed was not moved and they did not vacuum under it. There was noticeable dog hair, so I had to ask for additional cleanup. also, the dash was still pretty dusty and didn't seem to have had a thorough wipe down. Management had a pretty cavalier attitude, as the manager spent the whole time I was waiting by killing flies with a bug zapper. It was definitely a less than stellar job they did. Oh yes, and I waited for 45 minutes because the person who 'detailed' my car neglected to let me know he was finished. Definitely got the feeling that most of these guys were just passing time.

The coupons that Elephant gave me for the remaining 2 car washes expire on 11/15, but the Groupon is supposed to go through 11/28. I don't appreciate losing 2 weeks from what I was expecting. The man at the car wash gave me back my original Groupon printout to prove the date and said it was Groupon's mistake, not theirs, but that's a pain. Groupon needs to be more careful.

I was disappointed that Elephant Car Wash gave me vouchers for the remaining two car washes that expire 11/12/12 when the Groupon said it expired 12/12/12. The manager said he couldn't change it. Told me to call back Monday and ask for some other guy who may be able to change it. Why is this my problem? I don't particularly like using Groupon when clients and Groupon don't have their act together.

The crew seemed to work very diligently on the car. My only disappointment was the the driver's side of the windshield was not totally clean.

Nice people but extremely unorganized. Over 1 hour for exterior wash (automated just like Shell's) + manual tire wash (they don't do the rims). After 10 minute wait w/ those having interior cleaning, I double checked for exterior wash only line. None existed. After another 15, a guy took my keys and I went to waiting room. A guy went to my car with a vacuum so I went out & told him "exterior only". 45 minutes later, I had to go look for my car. They had just finished. I will definitely stick to Shell.

From Our Editors

For more than 60 years, Elephant Car Wash has resided on the cutting edge of car-wash technology. Archie, Dean, and Eldon Anderson founded the car wash in 1951 when they invented a hands-free machine that could clean cars and never be penalized in soccer. Thirty years later, they sold their shops to Bob Haney, who replaced the car-wash tunnels' plastic bristles with hybrid-blend cloths and high-pressure water nozzles. Nowadays, Elephant Car Wash features computer-operated tunnels that can read pH levels of dirt and—at certain locations—touchless car-wash tunnels that use high-powered water jets and potent detergents only.

Rotating above all of this technological progress is the car wash's signature pink elephant, which doubles as a polestar for drivers who need their vehicles washed, waxed, vacuumed, or shampooed. The trained staff waits outside the full-service car wash with towels and stages a slew of a la carte services including trunk vacuuming and leather conditioning. Elephant Car Wash works with the Puget Sound Car Wash Association and the Charity Car Wash Program, two organizations that strive to keep pollution out of waterways and inside the coffee mugs of Darth Vader.
