About National Nordic Museum

The award-winning National Nordic Museum is located in the popular Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. The Museum’s Nordic Journeys explores the arts, culture, history, and heritage of the five Nordic countries—Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden—as well as looks at Greenland, the Åland Islands, and the Sápmi cultural region of the Sámi people. Nordic America tells Pacific Northwest and national Nordic American immigration stories. Upon entry, the stunning, light-filled Fjord Hall introduces the visitors to the Museum and the connections between the Pacific Northwest and the Nordic region.

I really enjoyed my visit. Especially the Dawn to dusk paintings from Sweden. I also really like the big video screen upstairs with all the scenic views.

What a lovely way to spend an afternoon in the AC learning about the history of Nordic immigrants in the region. Highly recommend a few hours to visit this museum, especially if you're already down in Ballard for the locks, or golden gardens.
