It would be nice to include the café menu in the groupon - we like to eat a bit lighter and the cafemenu offers that

We were there late on Memorial Day - a Monday - and were the only ones in the dining room. Maybe the crew was on it's last legs and not fully on their game or were clearing out the leftovers but the ahi tartare appetizer came with papadums that were unlike any papadum I've ever had. They weren't crispy, they were more rubbery and the ahi mixture itself was a small serving and not very tasty, a waste of $15. I'm a big black cod fan and was disappointed with the alder-smoked cod. I loved the smoked flavor - very nicely done - but didn't care for the lemon-ginger emulsion flavor as a compliment to the fish. That's pretty much a personal preference but what isn't acceptable was that the fish itself seemed watery like it had been frozen. It lacked that luscious oiliness and had all the appearance of a previously-frozen fish. I told the girl friend that wasn't possible in a restaurant like this but we couldn't help calling after our dinner to ask if they served frozen black cod. They said, of course that they didn't but how to explain the condition of the fish? And while the fish serving size was Ok, the rice and vegetable sides were almost laughable. 1/4 cup of rice??? Three asparagus??? For the price, the food wasn't up to the standards I would expect and the serving sizes were minimal.

Near perfect interchange. Did stop at the Backdoor on the walk back home where they were too busy to have any personal or interpersonal interchange beyond the drink order and paying the check by REQUEST. Ponti s is da bomb

Excellent food . . . try the smoked black cod, it is absolutely delicious and the alderwood smoked flavor is subtle and not over powering.

From Our Editors

Crab spring rolls. Thai curry penne. Grilled beef tenderloin. At the heart of this cuisine is executive chef Alvin Binuya, a man who has been profiled in and whose recipes have been featured in Seattle Dining!.

Binuya has been immersed in the world of food since he was just a boy, when he would use his parents' kitchen as a culinary laboratory to forge new flavors and antidotes for stale gingerbread men. He went on to hone his skills in culinary school and numerous restaurants before settling at Ponti Seafood Restaurant & Bar. Drawing from this expertise and using locally sourced ingredients, the chef fuses pan-Asian, European, and Pacific Northwest influences to create signature dishes such as grilled wild king salmon.

Ponti's dining spaces echo the villas of Tuscany. Warm colors and window-lined walls surround the restaurant's visitors as they sip selections from an award-winning wine list. Elsewhere, four private dining rooms give scenic views of the giant tarter-sauce bottles that float through Seattle's Ship Canal.
