About Shabu Plus

At Shabu Plus, the diner also gets to be the chef. Waiters deliver a cauldron of broth to start the meal, which bubbles away on the tabletop hot plate. Next comes the thinly sliced meats, seafood, and vegetables. That's when the interactive Chinese style hot pot gets started. After a little guidance from the staff, diners dip the ingredients into the boiling liquid to cook it and impart the umami-rich flavor. The meals are rounded out with extra dipping sauces and rice and noodles.

The food was tasty over all. The selection of items to go in the all you can eat ingredients was good, however the stock was just like chicken stock without the fragrance of the spices. The service was almost none existent and we were the only people in the restaurant on a Monday. I go to Mongolian hot pot occasionally and always have a positive experience.
