About Tainos Authentic Caribbean Cuisine
Hidden in its unassuming wooden cabin on wheels, Tainos serves up a limited menu of authentic Puerto Rican cuisine. The plates are comprised of either chicken chicharrones or carne frita and served with a hearty portion of plantain. For smaller portions, the folks there offer tacos and sandwiches with either chicken or ham, and served with French fries.

The wait time to get your food is a minimum 45 minutes to an hour. It is a food truck parked outside of a barber shop and the barber shop owner is the one who owns the food truck as well. The food itself is not bad, but having to wait an hour for it is not worth it in my opinion. They are not exactly friendly either. There is nowhere to sit an wait so you will be waiting in your car for your food.

Great food, great people (the owners), and great service.
I had mofongo, tostones, and chicarrones de pollo. The mofongo was one of the most delicious starch dishes I have ever had! Tostones were nice too, but the mofongo took the cake! Comforting, garlicky, and very filling! The chicarrones de pollo (chicken drumstick bites with bone in) were tender and delicious as well.
Know that you will have to wait 15-20 minutes for your food, unlike at other food trucks, as all the food is made to order. Definitely worth the wait!
A point of interest: I went with a Haitian friend and she is used to eating mofongo and tostones back home, and she said this was the real deal! So, yes, it is definitely AUTHENTIC!
I liked the mofongo and tostones so much that I got another order to go and froze it so my family who will come to visit me in a few weeks can have it!
