This is better than their other location next to Fulton. I always pay an extra $10 for what they call "wheel brite" which is an acid wash behind your wheels so that if you have wheels that you want to show off, especially wider wheels on sportscars and sport SUV's (mine is a Porsche Cayenne) it really helps get all the black build up behind the wheel so when you look through the spokes, the back of the wheel is as clean as the front of the wheel. It also helps to get my red painted calipers free of black break dust residue that builds up on it. Wheels look showroom new every time. Other than that, like most car washes, you should walk around the car and point out what they missed, but this carwash by far misses a lot less than others in the area and is the only carwash I go to for a wash. However, details I take elsewhere to a shop that specializes in details, but washes are fine here. Unless you are not a perfectionist and just want a quick coat of wax for protection in a rush, then they are fine and the prices are reasonable. They also offer full hand wash, meaning the car does not go through the conveyer belt driven system as those can sometimes damage the wheels, and they disclaim that they don't cover their accidental damage to your wheels, so all the fancy exotic $200k plus cars opt for this full hand wash. In fact, if you have wide wheels, they will probably suggest this to you before you ask as they know what wheels are likely to damage. It's also fun watching all the fancy sportscars that come here for a wash, so you get that exotic eye candy some crave at no extra charge. Or start a conversation and meet a new friend talking cars. There is a shaded area to sit, so even the intense Valley heat is pleasant and cool. If you want more AC, go inside in one of their indoor chairs. A strong AC vent pours cold air in there for those like me that need that extra edge of chill. Tip: When not using groupon, as you are limited them, if you google "Sherman Oaks car wash coupon" multiple ValPac coupon comes up to save you money and time from collecting coupons from grocery store receipts. I get a $35 dollar wash (including "wheel brite") for about $25 with tip, so don't forget to find the digital coupon, and simply show the cashier your phone's screen, like you do with Groupon coupons, and cashier will scan the discount. Be sure to tell the person who writes up your order what coupon you plan to show to the cashier so your ticket is written properly.
