King Pollo, Silver Spring

Specializing in Peruvian–style chicken, or pollo a la brasa, King Pollo has been serving the South Atlantic region since 2008. Two things set this chicken apart: it's charbroiled over wood charcoal to give it an addictive smoky flavor, and It's served in quarters rather than mysterious nugget form. These generous portions of chicken come with equally generous sides, which run the gamut from fried rice to spaghetti to yucca, a diversity that spotlights Peru's multicultural culinary traditions.
