House Boats for Two, Brinnon

The House boats have great potential. We had an enjoyable time there due to the beauty around and the quaintness of the houseboat. My problem was that it was not as clean as it should be. The bathroom area rugs did not appear to have been washed. There were cobwebs above the kitchen sink and many items had not been dusted for quite a while. There were some artificial arrangements, that were missing blossoms and leaves, looking shabby. Minimal was done to make this stay say, we are glad you are here. The CD player needed a CD cleaner run. We could use the TV sound which was not enjoyable. Drycleaner hangers provided were bent and falling apart. There was a bottle of Champagne in the refrigerator and some beverages for our use which was nice. I wanted to love it... We were in house boat 3. If we had been in houseboat 4 possibly we would have been more able to over look the drawbacks. The overall position of the porch and chairs, give 4 a superior view and brightness. All in all we felt like we wanted it to be so much better...Many little changes would say we cleaned for you we love our house boat we hope you will too. I did not get that at all. I am sorry, and I hope that things will be done to make it better.

We had purchased any night reservation in June so that we could go on a weekend but they were booked all the way into Sept. so we went 8/17 to 8/19. (our wedding anniversary) There is no AC!! One window fan. Upon arriving all the windows opened to help circulate the air and we had to leave them open or the boat would have turned into a sauna! There was no romance due to lack of privacy! We did not use the hot tub as it was already too hot in the boat! The deck had 2 chairs which only gives about 1 foot walking space next to a little rail, I felt like I was going to fall into water. Also, no hand or body soap provided. Mouthwashed was used! Lack of storage due to locks on cabinets!

We checked in to find out we had no running water. The owner KNEW at least since the night before that we had no water. She had out phone number and our email address and she NEVER contacted us about the lack of water. She gave us a partial gallon of water and a bucket full of sea water for the toilet. We were told we should have water in the morning--well--no water again--no showers, no ability to wash your hands etc. When we called today (less than 24 hours after we checked in) and we told her we would not spend another night without water--she offered us a "free" night another time. Excuse me???!!! We PAID for 2 nights. We should be getting a refund for both nights--Health code violation

Such a lovely get away. Wonderful accommodations; spectacular, quiet and private location. Good casual restaurants in vicinity, great hiking/walking trails nearby. We loved it. A very memorable time.
