Tampa Guide

There is so much to do in Tampa, Florida, that even local residents often feel they need a Tampa guide. Tampa is not just beaches and tourist attractions. There is a wide variety of things to do to keep locals entertained and enriched. The city offers everything from a historic theater to a Buddhist temple, and it is even a great place to see some great big cats. While it is possible to see big, exotic cats at the Lowry Zoo, Tampa is also home to the renowned Big Cat Rescue sanctuary, the world's largest accredited wildlife sanctuary. This organization specializes in rescuing large felines from circuses, private zoos and irresponsible private owners. The rescued cats live in large enclosures that were created to replicate the natural habitats of these beautiful beasts, and the sanctuary offers tours that allow patrons to watch as staff members feed the cats. The Big Cat Rescue sanctuary is a must-see for cat lovers. Movie fans who have a soft spot for architecture and history should visit the Tampa Theater. The 1926 Wurlitzer organ has been in this theater since its inception and still plays before each screening. The architectural details of this old building have been faithfully preserved, both inside and outside. Even the lighting evokes memories of the early days of the film industry. A guide to Tampa is not complete without a mention of the blend of immigrant that make Tampa so special. While Latino culture comes to mind when people think of Tampa, this city is also home to a substantial Asian community. The Wat Mongkolratanaram of Florida, also known as the Thai Temple, is a Buddhist prayer house that also boasts an authentic Thai restaurant. After touring the temple and its grounds, guests can sample authentic Thai cuisine at reasonable prices.

DEAL OF THE DAY! Busch Gardens Tampa Single Day Ticket with FREE Meal (Expires 6/30/2025)
My family and I enjoyed ourselves and we can’t wait to return. The lines were long but the wait times were short. Nothing more than 15 minutes on line. Food was good. I recommend getting the food pass. Note that the food pass doesn’t come with drinks. Purchase the refill cup. We will be planning another trip here.

DEAL OF THE DAY! Adventure Island Tampa Bay Single Day Ticket with FREE Meal (Expires 6/30/2025)
Bought the “Single Day ticket with free meal”. Do not go to the ticket office line, the bar code gets you in at the gate and that same code gets scanned at the restaurant counter for your meal. The fine print that you don’t get to see until you purchase the ticket made it sound like this was a Monday thru Friday ticket only even though the purchase screen makes no mention of this for this ticket. Good news, that wasn’t the case and we went on the Saturday before Easter. Beware: parking is $40. Don’t pay for VIP, it’s not worth it. Our space was adjacent to VIP. Burgers, tenders, etc are roughly $18 and come with fries. All day refill cup was something like &14. An all day locker that fit our 3 beach towels, sunscreen, sunglasses, flip flops, etc was $30. We really enjoyed the waterpark and will go again with a Groupon.

90-Minute Jump Pass for Two; Valid 90 Days from Purchase
We had a total blast. It was my twin daughter‘s birthday and I believe it was also a holiday and so we had basically the whole facility to our self we had to we got to shut it down. I would definitely recommend it for teenagers, especially if they are disgruntled and you don’t know what to do with them and if you have smaller children, it works out even better
