Community health is the goal at the YMCA in Dane County, where a staff of facilities management, fitness instructors, and community support team members work to build an inclusive space and foster healthy living. Here, members take part in fitness activities—they shoot hoops and land free throws with neighbors, spar with family members and friendly rivals in martial arts, and push past their limits in intensive CrossFit classes. And with the aid of summer camp and child care programs, busy families enrich their kids' learning and fitness experiences with group activities, community volunteer initiatives, and even educational programs like Youth in Government.
