About Original Roadhouse Grill

When you set foot inside Original Roadhouse Grill, you may hear a crunch. Look down, and you’ll see hundreds of peanut shells scattered across the floor— remnants of the complimentary peanuts served by the bucketful. Country music and classic rock plays from an old-fashioned jukebox as servers perform lively line dances amidst walls of colorful knickknacks and neon signs. The atmosphere is equally as energetic in the kitchen, where open-air mesquite-wood grills roar with flames that sizzle hand-cut USDA Washington State steaks, juicy bison burgers, and thick slabs of ribs. To craft their renowned Texas egg rolls, the creative cooks fry up plump wonton shells stuffed with cream cheese and jalapeños. Servers bear the heavy platters into the dining room, along with cups of regional beers and mason jars of Wild West–inspired cocktails—such as a Luckenbach lemonade and a Bootlegger iced tea. The restaurant staff encourages guests to dress casually, welcoming worn blue jeans, comfortable T-shirts, and loose-fitting wedding gowns.

We have always been a big fan of roadhouse and have been there many many times before, we have never had a problem with serivice until last night. We were seated right away, they gave us a few moments and took our drink and appitizer order. The drinks took FOREVER to come out, they never offered water or brought out water. A drink of any kind if nice to have when you are sitting there eating peanuts. They came back later and took our dinner order. Our appitizers came out, not 60 seconds later our salads came out. We had not even had them 5 five minutes when our dinners came out, we had to send our dinner back to the kitchen as we had no time to enjoy what we already had nor any room on the table...When we were ready, we did ask for our dinner and the waitress helped clear the table. When I first ordered, I did ask the waitress for her opinion between the green beans and broccoli (I always get the broccoli and the beans were new), she recommended the beans, so I tried them and I was NOT impressed, she swapped them out for me (WAY TOO MUCH GARLIC). Our plates were HOT, but most of the food was warm, my husband said his steak was tempid (between cold and warm). The potatoes were OVERCOOKED and HARD in ALOT OF PLACES. We ended sending my daughters salmon back. She always gets the salmon and we both love salmon, something was off, not sure what, it just was over powering. The waitress did remove the salmon from the bill. We just felt very rushed. Drinks were slow (both times ordered) and food was fast (food needs to be spaced out and not brought out on top of each other).
