Let me begin by saying, I have never posted a bad review about anyone ever before, but this time I really felt something needs to be said. I decided to look for a groupon to try a new stylist. I had found a really good one before through groupon, but she moved. I found one that had 11 years experience and was trained at the Aveda Salon. So I thought I would give her a try. I went in for my appointment and was greeted right away which was great and told to go right back. She was very nice and shook my hand and told me to have a seat and asked me what I would like. I explained to her that I was getting my hair done quite often, and had decided to give it a break for a couple of months to get it healthy. I told her I would like blonde and red highlights and a nice cute cut to help shape my face. My hair is black and I have not put any color on it in about 2 months that my grey hair was showing. She explained to me that she could not do both red and blonde highlights at the same time and that of course it would be more because I only had the groupon. I asked her if she could split the highlights and do half red/half blonde instead of all blonde and again she stated no. That I would have to choose which ones I wanted. I said OK I will get the blonde highlights. She then proceeded to show me the unhealthy part of my hair which was a good amount (my hair touched to past my shoulders and she cut my hair above my shoulder blades). Which I again was OK with because I knew that to get it healthy I needed to cut it even though I told her numerous times I did not want it really short. She then mixes the bleach, and puts it on my hair with foils and tells me to sit in the hair dryer. I sat there for almost an hour. She came back a few times to check the foils and each time said it wasn't lifting that much so I had to sit longer. The thing that I found very unprofessional was the fact that there are only two hairdryer chairs for people to sit in. I was in one and another hairdresser was going to use one, but one of the other hairdressers needed it. The two hairdressers stood there arguing over which of the clients would get the chair. Meanwhile my hairdresser was asked how long I had left. A couple minutes later she said your done. I asked her was my hair done and she responded that I could not sit under the dryer any longer. She started to wash out my hair and said that it was not the blonde that I was looking for that it was golden blonde and what did I want to do. She stated that the highlights came out really coppery. I said well I know that they usually put a toner on it and it will help tone out the brassiness. She said that we can make them darker etc. or I could just deal with the golden blonde and that she would put a toner on it. She went on to say that I always have a choice etc. By this time you could tell that she was really agitated. She then proceeded to put the toner on and then shampoo/conditioner my hair. I sat in the chair and took the towel off and thought OK, the highlights are not that bad. I could live with it for a little bit. She asked me how I wanted my hair cut and I stated that I would like the cut to be even and nice. She starts to cut my hair SHORTER and I say ummm that is a little too short for me. My hair is already too short as is. She states well I think you need to even cut off more hair because it is unhealthy, maybe a bob. I said no way. She then proceeds to blow dry my hair. At this point I just am so uncomfortable and unhappy with my hair that I want to leave. She finally gets done blow drying my hair. As she turns me around so I can look at the back of my hair with the mirror, I notice there are barely any highlights in my hair. She said that they were cut off. I also notice that some highlights are blonde, where as some other ones are reddish blonde. I remind her about doing my eyebrows and she does them. When I go to pay her for them, she said don't worry about it, I already charged your groupon and your hair didn't turn out like you wanted. I still gave her $20.00. I left there went in my car and cried the whole way home. I never felt so uncomfortable. The worst part is that I kept trying to tell her that I know my hair is black, I am not expecting miracles, but this is not the first time that I have had blonde highlights in my hair with black hair. I told her that my hair has been black for years. She said there was no way that my hair must of been brown or another color. I proceeded to take out my phone to show her pictures of my black hair and she still insisted that it was not possible. Needless to say the experience for me was not that good. Though I have to say my eyebrows did turn out OK.
