Very enjoyable evening. We were treated very respectfully and the staff answered all our questions about the Groupon. Will definitely go back!

We were seated right in front of the guitarist's speakers and we could not speak to or hear one another. The owner appeared to be annoyed that we had a Groupon and then refused to move us to another open table even though there were many open tables.

They were out of tuna and scallop, two of the more expensive appetizers ($14), but wouldn't accommodate when I ask if I could order the antipasta ($19) and pay the difference. The quality of the food and drink is good, but quantity is very small and price is high. Usually when a restaurant offers a Groupon for a appetizer to share, the appetizer is enough to share. We ordered two appetizers and they were both very small. It cost more than if we went to a similar place for happy hour in the area (Nappa Tavern or Galletto) using Groupon at Bellavino and we left hungry.

The brie appetizer was good. The chicken marsala was ok but didn't have enough flavor tasted bland. Overall the ambiance was lacking. I most likely wouldn't come back. Nothing memorable about the experience.

From Our Editors

Wine expert Richard Belloff collects striking wines from across the planet to adorn the racks at Bellavino Wine Bar & Restaurant, winner of Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence for the last seven years in a row as well as the Ventura County Star's 2013 Readers' Choice award for best wine bar. Bellavino also hosts a variety of classes and events each month, inviting others to learn about their cellar's impressive selection.

Beneath the high, glittering lights of the dining room, a full menu of bar bites, entrees, cheeses, and charcuterie complement wines by the glass and bottle. At the wine bar, Chilean Apaltagua pinot noir and Sierra Madre chardonnay dance modestly inside glasses to the soundtrack of live musical acts playing on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights.
