Killer Melts, Miami

Killer Melts started out as a humble food truck, but the locals loved it so much that the owners planted themselves in a permanent location, an industrial-themed diner with the joint's name emblazoned on its wood-paneled wall. But the menu takes the spotlight here. They serve up specialty grilled cheeses and burger melts set alongside crispy fries and other sides. The joint's namesake melt is comprised of mounds of oozing cheddar and muenster cheese, a layer of bacon jam, and caramelized onions all sandwiched between buttered slices of thick white bread. To complement the sandwiches, the eatery pours cold craft beers and ladles hot, house-made soups.
