But with the aid of Sandstone Stables, your youngster—and you, too—can get a taste of equestrian life. Backed by experts such as Sandy Styzle and accredited British Horse Society instructor Jill Barton, Sandstone Stables' group, semi-private, and private lessons focus on safe riding practices, classical horsemanship, and proper care of horses in a fun, friendly atmosphere. Its Colts Neck facility has large jumping and dressage rings and a sizable indoor arena. Lessons can be as short as half an hour for young children, and evening lessons are available three days a week. For those who have their own horse, Sandstone also offers boarding, with each horse given a 12'x12' stall that's cleaned daily, high- quality grain, and daily turnout.
