What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
At the Monroe Street Neighborhood Center, we are pleased to be offering POUND fitness. It is a unique type of group fitness class that fuses drumming, Pilates, yoga, strength training and flexibility into a fun and innovative workout. This workout can be tailored to all fitness levels.Classes are beginning in JANUARY and NOW is the perfect time to reserve a spot in this innovative, fun and effective class. We will have POUND classes for the general population as well as our Seniors.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
I became a fitness instructor because I wanted to be in the best overall health I could be. Here at the Monroe Street Neighborhood Center, we strive to encourage our participants to make realistic fitness goals to improve their quality of life.
What do you love most about your job?
I love seeing my class getting stronger week after week and accomplishing goals that at one time they thought were impossible. I also love all the new faces I get to meet.
What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?
I had a 90 year old woman in one of my classes a few years back who was coming to classes regularly. She was thrilled to one day share with me that she tied her own shoe and and she wasn't able to do that prior to working out regularly. The best rewards I get as an instructor are seeing the overall health of my students improve.
