We tried bacon cheese chikuwa but it didn't seem like bacon in it and didn't taste at all. The other menu were OK. But I wouldn't go back there.

I am surprised at the quality of food being survived at Itadakimasu, in particular because it is Japanese owned. Food was not fresh and too salty - probably to compensate for the fact that it was not fresh. Sashimi salad lacked flavor and dressing; sashimi was not fresh and salad had little to no dressing making it incredibly dry and bland. Takoyaki was way too salty. Mentaiko Udon was salty, lacked depth, and udon was too soft and lost the chewy texture. Black cod was too salty. Highlights of the meal were the pork belly baos, the tea, and the service. It was a busy night but the servers did their best.

Will definitely have to spend more than groupon will allow to have a satisfied meal. We had a number of items but strongly recommend the fatty pork bun and the rice in the stone bowl. Rolls weren't too good, so wouldn't go there for that.

They have a very good variety of innovative Japanese dishes that go beyond the standard sushi and teriyaki dishes.

From Our Editors

Andy Chuma, the chef-owner at Itadakimasu, prepares authentic Japanese cuisine using culinary skills he has honed over the years working in kitchens throughout Canada, France, and Japan. The menu includes classic sushi rolls and unique temari sushi—small rice balls topped with fresh fish—along with shareable tapas-style skewers, bao buns, and udon noodles. Customers can also ask the staff for vegetarian options. A drink list of Japanese beers, sakes, and shochu cocktails complements Chef Chuma's cuisine from the East, while a glimpse into his French past can be seen in the crème caramel on the dessert menu or the baguette-shaped telephone at the front of the restaurant.
