Glo Restaurant & Lounge caters to the urban explorer. Not only does the travel-loving menu compile beloved dishes from around the world (Shanghai lettuce wraps, margherita pizza, New Delhi butter chicken), but the glass-walled restaurant itself is accessible by ferry, bike, and kayak. Once they arrive, wanderers rest in an atmosphere of casual luxury. In summer, the patio’s front-row view of the Selkirk Waterway and Trestle comes with a stack of cozy blankets to warm guests during cooler evenings. In the daytime, potted palms and umbrellas shade cushioned wicker chairs as a stone fountain burbles. In winter months, guests cozy up in comfy booths while watching sports on one Glo's numerous televisions.
The extensive menu also reveals a taste for both adventure and comfort. Pizzas come dappled with smoked mushrooms and hazelnuts, roquefort aioli adds tangy creaminess to steak sandwiches, and chicken gets a complex kick from a peppercorn rub and roasted-pear chutney. Local DJs spin tunes later in the evening while patrons sip from a selection of 60 wines, 30 beers, and fruity, refreshing cocktails into the night.
