Zumba Classes with Tonya, Doylestown

After fighting weight gain throughout her life, Tonya Garner realized that what she needed was a dance party. She salsa'd her way into Zumba's cardio-dance routines, and after six months she had shuffled off 40 pounds. Now, at 45 years old and nearly 105 pounds lighter than when she started, the licensed Zumba instructor choreographs similar transformations for her clients. Not to be outdone, big sister Shonnie soon seized the chance to work her own groove as a licensed Zumba instructor. Now together, the sister-duo helps guides others along on their weight-loss journey.

Fueled by rhythmic music from around the world, one-hour workouts melt off calories with low-impact choreography inspired by salsas and tangos. Heart rates rise as arms wave and hips swivel, helping students of all fitness levels boost endurance and energy. Instead of spawning cutthroat beatboxing tournaments, a supportive atmosphere kindles friendships among participants and a sense of community within each class. Alternatively, Tonya uses her licensed Bokwa instruction to teach cardio-packed Bokwa classes which are designed for all ages and dancing skill levels, and challenge participants to use their feet to trace numbers and letters in energizing workouts.
