new renovations makes it very pretty on the outside but NOTHING on the inside. NOT worthwhile for the fitness savvy/health conscious. changed it's philosophies to the most basic, beginners levels, I sadly had to terminate after 15+ yrs fr frustration

new management got rid of great classes and group fitness program and now offers wimpy classes that barely make you sweat by uninspiring out of shape instructors.

Needs a fresh coat of paint. Looks exactly like it did 15 years ago. Maybe consider a color that is refreshing and warm. Bathrooms are exactly the same upstairs as they were 15-18 years ago. I'm sure It was impressive when it first opened, but there are so many new gyms that have opened up that feel much more updated, for a fraction of the cost. Not sure I would join this one because it just looks old. Staff was nice though.

No effort to keep me as a customer or provide good customer service while I was there. Leaving a lot of money on the table I would think

This is one of the nicest gyms i've ever been a part of between the facilities and the staff there isn't a place comparable in the Waltham area.

Although the gym has a lot of machines, the interior is old and kind of depressing. The locker rooms also feel very dated. I love the spinning class that I tried. I was interested in using the pool, but was disappointed to see it was shorter than the standard size. That doesn't work for someone who is a good swimmer and wants to do laps.

From Our Editors

Waverley Oaks Athletic Club was founded in 1979 as a racquetball club by a family focused on fitness. Over the years, they added on to the club, creating a 55,000-square-foot facility with modern workout equipment, fitness classes, and amenities such as a nursery and heated indoor pool. In addition to its four regulation-size racquetball courts, Waverley Oaks now also houses facilities for volleyball, basketball, and spinning. Strength training and cardio rooms provide dumbbells of up to 120 pounds and more than 10 types of cardio machines. Groups can stretch their muscles in yoga classes or prepare for community theater roles as Jean-Claude Van Damme in kickboxing classes.
