The best haircut I got since moving to dc. Gilda knows how to cut , and she takes her time to make sure the haircut come out perfect!

That was the worst hair experience I've ever had in my life. The worst haircut and "blow dry"!! After literally a 10 secondes Shampoo and 5 secondes conditioner Gilda asked me what I wanted, she looked experienced but the result was horrendous. A total disaster. She made it clear during the cut that she didn't like to blow dry and started saying that I should leave my hair natural not to blow dry them, I said I prefer blow dry, then she started saying that she usually charges more for blow dry cause it takes times and she loses money when she could be cutting someone's hair instead.. I said I bought a groupon voucher for haircut,blow dry, and styling though.. she replied that it says that there are fees for longer hair. Mmmh I double checked and no it doesn't say anywhere that I will have to pay more for my blow dry when I already paid for it when I purchased my Groupon. She insisted a lot throughout the haircut. But then pretended that she was going to do it exceptionally cause she liked me... BUT that she wasn't going to do it all the way but would do her best. What?.. Her following customer arrived and she kept apologizing to the lady saying "she has long hair, she has too much hair"... (I'm going every week to blow dry my hair to different places and even if I have thick hair they are totally manageable and also you're supposed to take care of all kind of hair when you're a Hairdresser no??) she started drying my hair throwing them in every direction, I was horrified, I looked like a wild animal. She didn't even looked like she knew how to blow dry, and it confirmed that she didn't like to at all. She did a terrible job and didn't even finish drying my hair, she left me with the worst haircut I've ever had, when I told her that wasn't the haircut I asked for she said come back next time! I left with a half done Blow dry making me looked like I put my fingers in a an electrical outlet...... I am serious when I say that I am so embarassed I cannot get out of the house this afternoon and I'm usually not too difficult with my hair..

Wonderful haircut! Gilda did exactly what was needed to make my hair healthy and look fantastic. It was the best haircut experience I've had. Not only was it a haircut but such an interesting conversation with an incredible, inspiring woman! She began doing hair in Italy. If you want a fantastic haircut and many fascinating stories, Gilda's is the place for you!

I finally found the hairdresser who could replace my longtime stylist who moved to Boston. Gilda has a sense for what your hair can do, works with it, and cuts with confidence. I ended up with a perfect haircut. I can blow dry it but don't have to. No matter what I do, it falls back into place. For highlights, Gilda used a product she has formulated that doesn't contain bleach. It worked in ten minutes producing the golden shade I wanted. A week and several shampoos later, my hair is healthier than it was before I got the highlights. I am so relieved to have found Gilda. I will never go anywhere else.
