About Old Town Trolley Tour DC

The longest-running tour of Washington DC wins its popularity (together with the Washington Post's top rating) thanks to quality standards combined with constant innovations. Throughout the day, comfy all-weather trolleys run, conveniently located in a close proximity to the DC's most famous and fascinating sights such as The White House, the U.S. Capitol, Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, National Museum of American History, The Wharf, and many more. During the ride, expert guides share their knowledge on the best points of interest in a form of live narration while in-vehicle monitors provide an additional historical insight. On top of that, a handy full-color map and a guide app in seven foreign languages help tourists take the most of an independent exploration of the city. In addition, Old Town Trolley Tours of DC offers 90-minute city tour with a stop at the Lincoln Memorial. Open Daily 10am - 4pm now running every half hour. Last full Tour departs at 4pm.

Based on the great reviews, I had no qualms about purchasing this, however, it was a TOTAL waste of our money. We ended up walking most of the tour ourselves. First of all, the Groupon promises 7 stops and we only got 4 (start point, JFK, Unknown soldier and Arlington house). Most importantly, the trolleys were too full for anyone else to board at the stops. We waited at one stop for two different trolleys (30 minutes) and no one got off, so we couldn't get on. We ended up walking back to a previous stop in hopes we could board there, but the first trolley to arrive there was full too, so we walked back to the starting point. It was extremely cold outside and very disappointing. They were obviously not running enough trolleys for the number of visitors that day. I contacted the company and let them know I did not get what I paid for and they haven't even acknowledged my complaint 3 weeks later (but they did deny a refund request from Groupon for our tickets, so obviously they don't care if they deliver what they promise). Tomb of Unknown solider stop is disorganized and confusing and should be better marked. Disappointing visit.

Very informative. I had my elderly parents with us so having the trolly available made the visit very enjoyable. Totally worth the money.

Fun and easy way to see the city. The tricky part was finding the first trolley stop to start the tour. After that, it was great. First driver didn’t know much, second driver knew all kinds of cool facts. Would have liked more communication about how the 4pm last trolley works depending on g on where you at.

Fun ride on the hop on hop off tour at Arlington Cemetery. Very knowledgeable tour guides( especially Russell), and careful drivers.
