About Russia House Restaurant and Lounge

Back in 2003, Aaron McGovern, a Washington DC native and restaurant expert, and Arturas Vorobjovas, of Lithuania who has a soft spot for Russian cuisine and cooking, founded Russia House Restaurant and Lounge. The put their knowledge of advertising, cooking, and the restaurant industry to design a place where guests don't have to board a plane to get a little taste of Russia. Menu favorites include:

  • Moscow Borsch: A traditional Russian soup made with beets, chicken stock, Georgian Wine, short ribs, and spices topped off with sour cream

  • Pelmeni: A tortellini-like pasta stuffed with veal and pork with mushroom cream sauce and crispy onions

  • Sevruga Caviar & Sour Cream Blini: a savory Russian "pancake" topped with caviar, sour cream, pickled onions, and cucumbers
