This groupon is for a SPECIAL menu only. It doesn't say that and I made a stink. We got to order from the real menu as long as we didn't go over the value. They were very nice about it

Take the time to look at their online menu before you go, and ask for recommendations! Go hungry, because there is so much to try! We had chicken samosas (yum), chicken soup (very yum), and the kebab sampler and chicken curry, mild. Just a tiny bit of heat, which I didn't feel until most of the way through. Very pleasant atmosphere, super friendly people, even the chef stopped out. Highly recommend.

The following advice is given based on the lunch buffet experience: • The food was delicious; there wasn't an item I didn't like and that can’t be stated at many establishments. • There was a wonderful balance of North Indian cuisine with South Indian offerings that satisfied my cravings for sweetness and spice. • The naan was fresh. • The tandoori chicken was moist and had that distinctive tandoor oven taste; the chicken kebabs were also tasty. • The chicken tikka masala was my favorite. • The curry goat was tender and prepared with care; there were almost no bone chips. • The vegetable biryani was moist and pleasantly oily, not dried out. • The dal tadka (yellow lentil) was pleasant on the palate. • The Aloo (potato) was tasty. • Sambar was also available and it was delicious and lively in taste; I hadn’t had sambar in a long time, so this was a treat. • The pasty hot sauce was delicious and had flavor to match the heat. • The desserts, kheer (rice pudding ) and the gajar halwa (carrot), were delicious and pleasant respectively. • There were other tasty items, all of which I can’t remember. • Anyone with Celiac can request a gluten free menu. The staff was courteous and also very knowledgeable about Indian cuisine. If you are not familiar with Indian cuisine, don’t hesitate to ask any of the staff; even if you are familiar with Indian cuisine, listen to their suggestions, as you may learn something new and enhance your dining experience. If you are planning to take advantage of Spice Kitchen’s lunch buffet offerings, give yourself enough time to enjoy the food, because you will want more and during the week, Spice Kitchen closes at 2:30.

From Our Editors

As he stands before the blazing ovens at Spice Kitchen, Executive Chef Choudhary has a single thought in mind: "How can I make this dish the best it's ever been?" Choudhary's pursuit of perfection has taken him from India to New York to Pennsylvania, and infuses the food on Spice Kitchen's menu. Choudhary's meals are built upon a foundation of Northern Indian culinary traditions. This means lots of fragrant, flavorful spices, from the delicate chicken korma to a platter of kebabs roasted in a tandoor oven. Just because the restaurant is renowned for its traditional dishes doesn't mean Choudhary is averse to experimentation; his take on chicken tikka masala replaces the standard tomato sauce for an unconventional cream sauce summered with onions and spices. All of these dishes pair well with Spice Kitchen's fresh naan, kulcha, and other breads, which a reviewer from the Montgomery News says diners "would be foolish not to order." These feasts and more unfold within the restaurant's spacious dining room, which glows with the incandescent warmth of the candles that light each table.
