Really good Thai food. Just beware they don't always serve sushi

I was pleasantly surprised at the menu pricing, but I realized when I got my entree why the price is lower than other Thai restaurants. My duck dish did not have a lot of duck in it.

The only issue was our server's lack of enthusiasm and friendliness. She never once smiled at us, and it affected our overall experience.

I was very disappointed in Chaba Thai. We walked in and immediately noticed it was dirty. The floors weren't vacuumed, tables and chairs looked dingy and the bathrooms were not clean! We were seated and the glasses were filthy! There was only one other table occupied, but the service wasn't quick and our food came out scattered. The food was good, but I won't go back again until they do a thorough cleaning!

Not enough food for the cost even with the coupon. This place needs serious updating and cleaning!!

The first impression when walking through the door isn't good. It smelled moldy and the interior looks very tired and worn. But the food is good and the waitress was helpful with finding out ingredients used to avoid wheat hidden in sauces.

There was no sushi! Service was slow but it was a busy Friday night and there were only two waitresses working.

From Our Editors

A bachelor’s degree in international language has lent Chaba Thai Cuisine & Sushi's owner, Lawan Seelawongsayree, an advanced understanding of human communication. However, at her restaurant—which she opened in 2004 and where she perpetuates family recipes passed through generations—Lawan speaks to her customers through her cuisine: a language primal yet international and sophisticated all at the same time.

Spicy, sweet, bitter, and citrusy flavors collide in dishes that hold true to Thai tradition while playfully thumbing their noses at stodgy conventions such as chewing. Curry dishes marry sweet coconut milk with spicy red-chili paste, a combination sewn with coriander and cumin threads in the massaman version. With every guest’s meal, Lawan aspires for a dining experience rich with sanuk, a term that denotes fun and pleasure at the table without forcing guests to sculpt mashed potatoes into Bobcat Goldthwait.
