it was difficult to schedule (guess they only hold classes once a month), but my granddaughter and her little friend loved it. They want to go again for another class. Fun event!

It was basically just a painting session at a gallery. Not much different than buying a blank canvas & some paints & letting your kids paint at home. I would not pay $15/child to do it again, but it was enjoyable. It was a nice to get out to Crocker Park on a beautiful day, view the other artwork in the gallery & paint along with some friends.

We were excited to have a painting lesson with a professional. Although they were very nice there, we got a canvas and paint. We could have done this at home.

The kids had a great time...other than waiting for the class to begin. For the instructor: when it is the appointed time to begin, begin, don't wait for those who are late. We waited 15 minutes past start time for 3 put of 24 participants. Waiting re-enforces it is ok to be late. 21 kids were on time...reward that behavior. If the tardy a show up, let them wait to join in. For the parents, let the kids create their art...

Began 15-20 mins late so we could "wait for others who might be coming." There were ~20 of us there on time, so why should we wait for inconsiderate people who might show up late? It really seemed it was just a way to stretch the program out, so they could say it was an hour long program. I would much rather have a 40 minute worthwhile program than a program that lasts an hour simply because it began late.

The last who ran the event was great. She was so engaging with the kids and organiZed. She spent time educating the kids as well as encouraging their creativity. I will be bringing all my nieces and nephews back!

Not very structured. Staff didn't demonstrate. Took 10 min to wait for other kides, 10 min for kids to get in line and get their paint. Painted animals and there was no brown paint, expected little kids to make their own brown and many were frustrated. I liked painting with a twist better because it was structured and kids were given something specific to paint and could put their own twist on it.

From Our Editors

Art At the Park's classes come in two main varieties: a BYOB session for adults, and a kids version for children four and older. In the adult class, students choose an example painting (or bring their own), then learn how to recreate it from a professional artist. The children's class begins with a theme of the week, using that to inspire kids to create an artwork of their own. Aside from these regular classes, Art at the Park also arranges private parties for birthdays and corporate events.
