I’m sharing this review to reflect my honest experience at Ange De La Mer Salon & Spa. While I prefer writing positive reviews, this one was unfortunately disappointing.
At my first appointment, I arrived on time but was told Phillis, the owner, had taken another client during my slot. The receptionist apologized and offered an ionic foot bath while I waited over an hour. Though Phillis eventually saw me, the experience began on a disorganized note.
The closed system used felt much less comfortable than the open systems I’ve experienced elsewhere. I hadn’t received instructions about the required pre-colonic diet, yet Phillis blamed the issues during the session on what I ate. Her approach felt rough and unsupportive, especially for someone sensitive like me.
After the second session, a different receptionist gave me paperwork outlining the full protocol—diet, health goals, and intake forms—which I never received before. When I asked Phillis about this, she said, “I’m not going to give that to you if you only book one session.” That, along with the receptionist’s apology, showed a clear lack of communication about what’s actually included.
During the first visit, I wasn’t even given an intake or release form until after the session.
The facility setup also lacks privacy. After the colonic, I was instructed to walk—still soiled and in a robe—to a public hallway bathroom. There were no showers or private facilities to clean up properly, which was extremely uncomfortable and, frankly, shocking given the nature of the treatment.
To her credit, Phillis did honor my request for a free second session. But even after following her verbal protocol, I experienced leakage again and was met with blame and vague comments about emotional blockages, rather than compassion or care. Rather than offering reassurance or empathy, her comments left me feeling judged and further traumatized.
Overall, the experience felt transactional and disconnected. Phillis pushed packages and liver cleanses without really listening to me or understanding what I was already doing for my health.
Thankfully, I’ve since connected with a deeply compassionate colon hydrotherapist whose care and presence helped me resolve the very issues that were exacerbated here. I truly hope this review brings awareness to the importance of empathy, clear communication, privacy, and professionalism—especially in such intimate and vulnerable healing work.

I went to my scheduled appointment and they didn’t have my time or phone number right in their books. The woman at the desk was super rude and was blaming me for being late even though I showed her it said my appointment was at this that time. They asked me to come back due to their scheduling error. When I came back the next week no one was there and they wouldn’t answer the phone.
